The Detroit Lions had a difficult finale to a fantastic season last year.
After winning 12 games and the NFC North for the first time in the division’s history, the Lions squandered a 17-point halftime lead in the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers, falling 34-31.
After a disappointing season in the Bay Area, All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Lions continue to carry a huge chip on their shoulders.
“Even if we’re not the underdog, we still believe we are. “We still feel like teams think we’re the same old Lions,” St. Brown remarked recently on “The Pivot.”
The Lions have been a losing franchise throughout their existence. Since 2000, they have only made the playoffs five times.
They hadn’t won a postseason game since 1991, and they’d never appeared in the Super Bowl before last season.
But now, it appears that head coach Dan Campbell has turned the tide. After being hired in 2021, Campbell led Detroit to a 3-13-1 record. The following season, Detroit finished 9-8, their first winning season since 2017.

Last year, they dominated the league and came agonizingly close to reaching their first Super Bowl trip.
Good players such as St. Brown, Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff, Pro Bowl edge-rusher Aidan Hutchinson, and many others have contributed significantly to the turnaround.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Lions respond after there appeared to be more meat on the bone at the end of last season that wasn’t consumed.
