The 22-year-old midfielder is reportedly being tracked by many clubs, including the Light Blues.

Rangers are apparently considering a deal for Le Havre midfielder Oussama Targhalline, with the French Ligue 1 club desperate to retain their Moroccan midfield star.

Light Blues manager Philippe Clement has already strengthened his squad with five new arrivals this summer, with more anticipated to follow. According to L’Equipe, the Ibrox club is one of several clubs interested in 22-year-old Targhalline, who played 14 games in Ligue 1 last season to assist his team avoid relegation. They say that the African is also interested in teams from France and Italy, and that Le Havre has offered him a new one-year contract with only 12 months remaining on his present one.

Targhahlline, who was born just outside Casablanca, helped his club win the Ligue 2 title in 2023 and has eight U23 caps for Morocco. He was a member of the team that won the Africa Cup of Nations last year and has previously achieved success with his country at the U17 and U20 levels, winning the UNAF tournament twice.

The midfielder began his career at Marseille, where he made three first-team appearances. He also spent time on loan in Turkey with Alanyaspor in 2022. Rangers are already set to sign Targalline’s international teammate Hamza Igamane, having signed a £1.7 million deal with FAR Rabat for the striker, who is scheduled to join in Govan soon.

The Gers have also been linked with a transfer for another Morocco U23 international Couhaib Driouech, who plays for Excelsior in the Dutch second division. With Clement trying to strengthen his offensive options, talk about Cyriel Dessers’ future is only expected to grow, with the Nigerian forward attracting interest from Greek club PAOK and Saudi Pro League clubs.
