TALLAHASSEE, Florida — The Florida A&M men’s basketball team has added four players to the 2024-25 roster. Jamine Charles, Lenard Taylor, Kaleb Washington, and Tyler Shirley are junior college transfers who will join the Rattlers this season. Charles transfers to Florida A&M from Blinn Junior College. As a 6’11 forward, he averaged 4.8 rebounds and 7.3 points per game during two seasons at BJC. Throughout his career, Charles has 20 steals, 66 blocks, 284 rebounds, and 429 points.
Taylor, a 6-foot-2 guard from Clarendon College, will also join the Rattlers this season. Taylor played 32 games for CC and averaged 12.4 points per game. He shot 42.6% from the field, 37.6% from three, and 72.2% from the foul line. He tallied 27 steals and 139 rebounds.
Washington joins the Rattlers as a 6’8 guard from Butler Community College. Washington played at the University of Dayton before joining BCC, where he scored 18 points and stole three. Washington started 20 games for BCC and averaged 11.2 points per game. He had 28 thefts and 14 blocks throughout his career. He shot 40.8% from the field and 70.6% from the foul line. Washington had 303 total points and 60 assists for BCC.
Shirley, a 6’8 forward from Clayton State, has joined the roster. Shirley played 34 games over two seasons at South Alabama before coming to CSU. He finished with 63 points and 63 rebounds. Prior to his junior season at CSU, he averaged 8.4 minutes per game. He averaged 11.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, good for second best on the squad. He had 14 double-digit scoring games, including four 20-plus point performances. He shot 46% from the field, 32% from beyond the arc, and 76% from the foul line.
