Aston Villa have gathered information about Germany and Hoffenheim attacker Maximilian Beier in recent days and could compete with Chelsea for his signature.
Last season, the 21-year-old made an impact in front of goal, contributing 19 goals in 33 Bundesliga games and helping his side qualify for the Europa League.
Beier’s form drew the attention of Premier League clubs, with Chelsea emerging as the most interested.
They have even gathered information about the footballer, who is presently competing for Germany in Euro 2024 and came on as a substitute in the 1-1 tie with Switzerland.
According to Sky Deutschland, Chelsea is not the only club to do so; Aston Villa, led by Unai Emery, has also done so.
Beier’s contract with Hoffenheim includes a €30 million release clause, and Aston Villa has obtained information about him.
Focusing on Germany, Beier has stated that he will address his future after Euro 2024.
Both Aston Villa and Chelsea are now focusing on staying inside PSR guidelines by the June 30th deadline, and both have made recent transfers.

Villa partnered with interest in target to enhance Emery’s attacking options.
Aston Villa are apparently interested in Hoffenheim attacker Maximilian Beier, and we could compete with Chelsea for his signature this summer.
The 21-year-old dazzled last season, scoring 16 goals and adding three assists in 36 games, and he has the versatility and quality to play as a forward or on the side.

His performances won him a spot in Germany’s squad for EURO 2024 this summer, where he hopes to add to his two caps, but he might also be a target for Villa in the coming weeks.
According to Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Villa has a genuine interest in the German international and has gathered information about him, evidently with the intention of launching a bid to recruit him.
Beier’s current contract includes a release clause of roughly €30 million, and while the player has stated that he would not discuss his future until after the Euros, it is something to keep an eye on next month, with Chelsea also reportedly interested.
While Villa confirmed the signing of Lewis Dobbin last week, there has been conjecture that Jhon Duran will leave this summer. If that happens, we’ll be light up top in terms of competition and depth behind Ollie Watkins, and we’ll likely need another wide player to allow Unai Emery to rotate.
Competition is fiercer in that section of the squad, but if Beier is viewed as a centre-forward option by Villa, a possible move would make a lot of sense, especially if Duran leaves a gap that must be filled before the start of next season.
Villa’s transfer plan is primarily following a current trend of bringing in players in their early twenties who have good futures ahead of them and the potential to become increasingly valued moving forward.
Beier would fit that mold as well, ticking a crucial box in terms of what we need to acquire this summer, and only time will tell if Emery, Monchi, and the recruitment team all agree the Hoffenheim man is the ideal option to draft in as a major reinforcement.
It promises to be an exciting transfer window for the club as we look to address our PSR concerns this month, and hopefully, in conjunction with the work being done on the business and commercial sides, we hope to be in a position of strength by next month in terms of how much we can spend to strengthen Emery’s squad.
