Chiefs player arrested for second time in 3 weeks
Isaiah Buggs, a Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman, is in legal problems for the second time in less than a month.
Buggs was arrested Sunday on a domestic violence/burglary charge, according to Tuscaloosa County Jail records in Alabama.
Details are unknown, but a representative for the Tuscaloosa Police Department said Buggs was still in custody as of midday Sunday on a mandated 12-hour domestic violence hold. His bond amount was set at $5,000.
Buggs’ arrest marked his second trip to Tuscaloosa County Jail in the last three weeks. The former Alabama star surrendered on May 30 after being given two misdemeanor arrest warrants for animal cruelty. Police reportedly discovered two dogs — a pit bull and a Rottweiler mix — on a house’s rear porch with no food or water. Buggs rented out the residence. You may learn more about the allegations here.
The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Buggs in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft. The 6-foot-3, 306-pound tackle spent three seasons with the Steelers and his final two seasons with the Detroit Lions.
Buggs joined the Chiefs as a practice player in January before signing a futures contract with the organization the following month.
