According to sources in Denmark, Napoli is on the approach of loaning flop Jesper Lindstrom to Olympique Lyonnais with the option to buy for €20 million.

The 24-year-old was a significant investment last summer, with the Partenopei paying Eintracht Frankfurt €30 million plus up to €5 million in various add-ons.

He was a complete catastrophe at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, scoring one assist in 29 competitive games and never finding a spot to play in.

Primarily a trequartista who could play on either wing, he struggled tactically with the demands of Serie A and simply made no difference in a club that was already struggling in the post-Scudetto campaign.

Napoli takes a hit on Lindstrom
According to Denmark’s Tipsbladet, Lindstrom will be loaned to Olympique Lyonnais with the option to buy for €20 million.

This involves taking a potentially significant financial risk, yet there were few organizations willing to purchase Lindstrom following this season.

Olympique Marseille had also been connected to the Danish international.
