Former Celtic recruitment chief John Park is likely to join Blackburn Rovers. Park crossed the Rubicon and worked for Rangers last year before joining Birmingham City, where he met Tony Mowbray.
According to Record Sport, Park has moved on from Birmingham following their relegation, but has made a rapid return to football with the Ewood Park club signing the experienced scout.
Under Neil Lennon, Park played an important role in Celtic’s recruitment efforts, assisting in the signings of players such as Virgil Van Dijk and Victor Wanyama. There are a handful of good players who came in during his tenure, but there are also some disastrous additions that should be blamed on Park.
Park joined Ibrox in July 2022, alongside Ross Wilson and Giovanni van Bronkhorst. However, once the pair left, Park was actively involved in Michael Beale’s disastrous recruitment over the summer, which resulted in the Englishman losing his position.
Park has worked for Motherwell, Hibernian, Dundee United, Blackburn Rovers, Vancouver Whitecaps, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Legia Warsaw.
