The Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have both expressed interest in Chippa United’s Stanley Nwabali.
The Chiefs and Pirates are said to be fighting with European and Middle Eastern teams for Nwabali’s services.

Nwabali’s journey has had numerous twists and turns. Chiefs were the first to show interest among the Soweto titans. It is thought that their interest began during the previous offseason transfer window and has lasted into this season until at least February. Amakhosi are believed to have lost interest in pursuing the shot stopper.
CHIEFS AND PIRATES INTERESTED IN NWABALI.
This outlet revealed last month that Nwabali’s dream move was to the Chiefs, despite the Pirates’ growing interest. The player was then advised to wait until after Afcon to make a local move. He subsequently proceeded to Ivory Coast as an unexpected option for the Super Eagles’ number one spot. His exploits in getting his country to the finals garnered him international fame. Unsurprisingly, Chippa Mpengesi increased his cost to R30 million.
That is thought to be the moment Chiefs rejected their transfer offer to sign Nwabali. Pirates, on the other hand, appeared undeterred. This is possibly owing in part to their close ties with Chippa. According to the iDiski Times, the keeper appears to have made a ‘come and get me plea’ to any interested parties.
“The transfer window will open soon, but for me, I want to take a step [ahead]. I’m not sure whether it will be South”The transfer window will open soon, but for me, I want to take a step [ahead]. I’m not sure whether it will be South Africa or Europe. I performed well for my club [Chippa United] this season, and they also wanted me to play for a bigger squad. I will play regardless of whether it is in South Africa or Europe. I’m not saying goodbye just yet; most major teams and the majority of individuals are looking for me. Football is business; if the chairman says this is the highest bidder, I would go for it; I don’t have a preference for a particular team, such as Chiefs, Pirates, or Sundowns,” Nwabali told the publication.
