This offseason, the Utah Jazz are in need of some assistance. Players that can shoot the ball better, get more rebounds, and play superior defense are what they’re searching for. Although there’s good reason to concentrate on other areas of need, the team’s perimeter defense is currently its worst weakness.

To improve their defense, the Utah Jazz need assistance. Kris Dunn and Walker Kessler are two of their better players, but Dunn is a free agent this season. The two best defensive players on the team, but they still need to do better. They need guys who can support them or step in for them when needed.

Whoever the Jazz select should ideally assist Dunn and Kessler strengthen the team’s defense, but if Dunn is gone, Bleacher Report might have identified his replacement. Once more, the best course of action is to add this player and maintain both.
The Utah Jazz’s best practical option this offseason is the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Isaac Okoro, a guard/forward. This is according to Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey. Though he’s not much of an offensive talent, Okoro could be a viable alternative for the Jazz; let’s hope he’s not the only one.
However, Bailey correctly notes that the club requires additional assistance on the perimeter, stating;

To put it plainly, Okoro is a joke. Despite never having averaged double figures in a season, he is the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Throughout his career, he is only averaging three shots out of three and isn’t even averaging one complete shot. By no means is he a decent attacking player.
Nonetheless, he is the Utah Jazz’s ideal defensive player. If we were to start over the next season, the objective would be to get Dunn back on board and have Kessler in the starting lineup so that the team’s defense would be as strong as it could be in the event that Okoro arrived.

His offensive limitations prevent the Cavaliers from giving him a serious consideration to return. The Cavaliers had always hoped that he would become a three-and-d player, but that hasn’t happened. Thus, he is no longer a good fit for the Cavs. The Jazz are not the same as Okoro in terms of needs or aspirations. He is neither their bust, nor is he their third-round selection.
