EAGAN, Minnesota — James Lynch has resumed his career and is back with the Vikings.
Lynch, who was selected by the Vikings in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, became a free agent in March after his rookie deal ended.
A knee injury sustained during training camp in August of last year forced Lynch to miss the start of his fourth season. Projected to play numerous positions, he was expected to be a member of the interior defensive line rotation.
With three starts, Lynch has made 37 appearances in games. 53 tackles (31 solo), four tackles for loss, two sacks, and a fumble recovery have all been tallied by him.
The Vikings released veteran cornerback Joejuan Williams, who played in two games, to create space on the offseason roster (which is limited to 90 players).
