This player will not play against the Sacramento Kings, according the Warriors.

The versatile guard Gary Payton II will not be available for the Golden State Warriors when they take on the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night in their first play-in round match. Due to a calf injury, Payton is not eligible to compete in the play-in event.

The Warriors have suffered a serious setback, particularly when facing a squad like Sacramento. Payton only played 44 games this season, so Golden State has gotten used to playing without him. However, his defense would have been essential to the team’s strategy against De’Aaron Fox.

In addition to being the best defensive player on the court, Payton offers the Warriors some exceptional offensive alternatives. At just 6’2″, Payton is a lob threat who can also play as an offensive roller and, when left on his own, can occasionally knock down a corner three.

This is a win or go home game for both teams, as the loser will be eliminated, and the winner will go on to face the loser of the New Orleans Pelicans vs. Los Angeles Lakers game. The winner of that Pelicans vs. Lakers game will earn a date with the Denver Nuggets as the 7th seed, and the loser will face the winner of Golden State vs. Sacramento for a date with the Oklahoma City Thunder as the 8th seed.

Needless to say, this is a big one between Golden State and Sacramento.
