Center Mitchell Robinson of the New York Knicks is finally back after missing more than three months due to an ankle injury. Robinson’s comeback was announced with little time to process the news, but in his first game back, he looked good and wasn’t at all rusty.
Tuesday night, Robinson and the Knicks dominated the Raptors 145-101, defeating yet another inferior foe. Although Robinson was Isaiah Hartenstein’s backup when he came off the bench, his influence was still felt. It’s also likely that his reappearance inspired his comrades to keep up their successful strategies.
Long before the outcome of the game was known, the seven-footer entered the contest with 5:08 left in the first quarter. In just over 12 minutes of play, Robinson scored eight points, grabbed two rebounds, and blocked two shots.
Overall, Robinson was a +14 and, at least in the first quarter, he showed some encouraging play during quite contested minutes.
