The striker will be sidelined for six weeks due to a hamstring injury. He has scored 25 goals this season to help lead Chesterfield to promotion.

The 32-year-old, who currently holds an amazing six promotions on his resume, hobbled off late in the game against Halifax last week and was unable to attend Saturday’s title-clinching game at home against Boreham Wood. He won’t participate in any of Town’s next five games.

“I picked up a slight hamstring injury on Wednesday night and unfortunately that is me out for six weeks.”

Due to his injury, he will not be able to overtake Paul McCallum of Eastleigh in the National League Golden Boot race. McCallum leads Grigg by five on 30.

Grigg went on, “Unfortunately, I will have to give up that golden boot that I so much wanted.” Fair play to Paul McCallum; he’s been a credit to himself and deserves it all. He’s likely had the season of his life. Although I’m disappointed, he deserves all the praise.
