Luke Metcalf, a playmaker for the New Zealand Warriors, signed a new contract to ensure his future.
Metcalf signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him in New Zealand until the end of the 2026 campaign.
The 25-year-old spent time with the Cronulla Sharks before joining the Warriors. Metcalf has solidified his place in the halves, playing alongside Shaun Jo
He competed in the Harold Matthews Cup, SG Ball Cup, and NYC Under-20s with the Cronulla Sharks during his junior career before signing with the Warriors. He then played for three years with the Manly Sea Eagles.
“I can’t wait to extend,” “I see myself staying here,” he declared in a statement released by the club.
“I’m genuinely thrilled to be in New Zealand and with the Warriors. It was an obvious choice because my partner adores it and we are working on a unique building.
“All I ever needed was a little love and support as a player from someone.
“Obviously, I have to work hard on myself, but I knew deep down that this was what I wanted to do when Webby and I had that conversation and he said, ‘Hey, we want you here long term.'” I’m eager to repay them for their belief in me.
Shaun Johnson was my childhood hero and is currently a teammate. It’s absurd. Guys like Addin, Wayde, and Roger are added to that, and you can see that we’re creating something truly unique.
