Regarding Collingwood’s recent difficulties, Leigh Matthews spoke, saying that “all of this premiership hangover stuff is all gone now.”

The playing group’s confidence would need to be “shaky,” according to Matthews, and Collingwood has a “level of hubris,” according to Caroline Wilson.

“It wasn’t Collingwood last year, and I had this great view, great teams win by big margins,” Matthews remarked.

Nick Daicos wants to keep moving forward after the bizarre storm which engulfed teammate Mason Cox in Opening Round.

Cox’s conduct during the warm up of their clash against GWS was called into question as a result of making contact with Giants assistant Shane Mumford, but he has since clarified what happened.

Daicos said he was unaware of what went on in real time, but has observed the media reaction since and was intent on looking forward to Friday night’s Round 1 match against Sydney.

“But obviously I’ve been across it the last couple of days, It’s all settled now which is nice.”
