Zach LaVine is an All-Star winger for the Chicago Bulls, and his contract and a right foot injury he was dealing with prevented Chicago from making a trade of him before the February NBA trade deadline.
The Bulls are currently 31-34 and the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference, with LaVine out for the season as a result of the previously reported foot injury. They would currently compete in the NBA Play-In Tournament.
It’s still not a team that feels like it belongs in the playoffs. That’s magnified with one of its greatest players in street clothes for the duration of the season.
It is now clear what the question is. Has LaVine played his final game in a Bulls uniform?
K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago says that Chicago will attempt to sell the 29-year-old LaVine during the summer.
It shouldn’t be that shocking to learn this. LaVine has been available since the previous summer. He doesn’t seem to have a future with Chicago.
It remains to be seen if any team will truly be interested in the two-time All-Star. LaVine is currently covered under a $215.16 million, five-year contract. With a player option for the 2026–2027 season, his contract is good through the 2025–2026 season.
