D’Angelo Russell was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers as the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Russell only played with the Lakers for two seasons, though, until the team moved him to the Brooklyn Nets.

Russell rejoined the Lakers in a trade last season after playing for a couple seasons elsewhere.

Russell has kept up his game improvement since then.

Russell just scored 44 points in the Lakers’ game against the Milwaukee Bucks, showcasing his true abilities.

Numerous responses were generated by fans in response to Russell’s outstanding performance.

He became just the third player in Lakers history to make nine 3-pointers in a single game, behind only Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

Russell’s spectacular play enabled the Lakers to defeat the Bucks 123–122, a much-needed victory.

With a 35-30 record, the Lakers are currently the ninth seed in the Western Conference as a result of the victory.

Russell will continue to bear a larger burden to lead the club, especially with LeBron James still rehabbing from an ankle ailment.

For the Lakers this season, Russell is averaging 18.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game.
