The NFL Draft is a strange event. The initial round may be insane. After then, the estimates get even more improbable in terms of a prospect’s desire in playing for other organizations.
Still, with March approaching and the NFL Draft still two months away, the New Orleans Saints have some obvious needs. Both the offensive and defensive lines require improvement.
Puni had a great NFL Scouting Combine performance. When tested and measured in numerical terms, he displayed amazing size and agility.
Additionally, the former Jayhawk is a legitimately versatile player.
He could see the inside and outside of time in the NFL. The Saints require depth at both guard and tackle positions. If the Saints don’t add a definite starter to start opposite Ryan Ramczyk, Puni would compete for a starting position at offensive tackle.
Puni’s power and mobility talents give him an intriguing ceiling. Many prospects like him are hard to come by after the first round of the draft.
Watch Puni for New Orleans in the second round if they don’t assault OL in the first.
