The Pittsburgh Steelers are selecting pass catchers in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, despite the fact that many people are projecting either an offensive lineman or a cornerback.

The Steelers have formally met with Brian Thomas of LSU and Troy Franklin of Oregon. Both should advance to the first round around mid-late. They have also had meetings with individuals such as AD Mitchell from Texas and Jalen McMillan from Washington.

Roman Wilson of Michigan, who is projected to go as early as late in the first round but with a ceiling of among the top 50 choices, has also visited with the Steelers.

Receivers are believed to be needed since the Steelers need depth behind Diontae Johnson and George Pickens, but in the first round? Maybe there’s a clue here about a potential transaction being made. Whatever the case, the choice at No. 20 is almost certainly a receiver.
