IndianCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado’s Teri Moren Teri Moren, the head coach of Indiana, has been named the 2024 USA Basketball Women’s U18 National Team’s head coach.
“I express my gratitude for being selected to lead the 2024 U18 National Team as head coach,” Moren remarked. “Being invited to represent your nation and be a part of USA Basketball is always an honor and a humble experience. I’m excited to work with some outstanding colleagues and coach some of the greatest young athletes in the nation as we pursue a gold medal this summer.The USA National team now has an as their new head coach.
After winning gold as an assistant coach at the 2023 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup and the 2022 FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship, Moren will make her head coaching debut with USA Basketball. She has led the Hoosiers for ten seasons as their head coach. The native of Indiana is the program’s all-time winningest coach after guiding them to nine straight 20-win seasons, five NCAA Tournament berths, two Sweet 16s, and an Elite Eight visit. She won the Big Ten Coach of the Year award for the second time in her career in 2023 after leading the team to its first regular season Big Ten title in forty years.
The USA Basketball Women’s Developmental National Team Committee chose the U17 coaching staff, and the USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee chose the U18 national team’s coaching staff. The Board of Directors for USA Basketball authorized each choice.
