Vernell Brown III, a 25-year-old wide receiver, lists Louisville as one of his top schools.

Louisville, Ky. – Another offensive skill position Class of 2025 prospect from Florida has picked the Louisville football program as one of his top colleges.

Orlando (Florida) Jones wide receiver Vernell Brown III declared his top 11 schools on Thursday, with the Cardinals in the running for his commitment. His nearly 40 scholarship offers include Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Florida, Tennessee, Syracuse, UCF, and Stanford.

Brown is one of Louisville’s primary targets this cycle. Last month, head coach Jeff Brohm and some of his staff visited Jones High School and extended an offer to Brown.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver can score whenever he touches the ball, having caught 70 receptions for 1,363 yards and 10 touchdowns in his junior season. He also serves as a dangerous return guy, returning three punts and a kickoff for scores. Brown helped Jones finish 10-4 by appearing in Florida’s Class 3M state playoffs.

Brown’s abilities on both offense and special teams make him a highly valued recruit. He’s a consensus top-300 talent, with Rivals ranking him as the No. 36 wide receiver and No. 216 recruit in the 2025 class.

Louisville presently has a three-man 2025 recruiting class, including Oxford (Ala). Mason Mims, a high school quarterback, Goshen (Ky.) North Oldham offensive lineman Gradey Anthony, and Westerville (Oh.) North offensive lineman Jake Cook are all in the mix.
