While some may be looking forward, the 2023 Detroit Lions season was so good that it’s worth taking another look back.

Gordon McGuinness from Pro Football Focus compiled a list of the top wide receivers based on their overall PFF grade. Amon-Ra St. Brown, a Star Lions wideout, finished fourth with a 91.2.

“Only one wide receiver in the NFL received more targets than St. Brown’s 190 during the regular season and playoffs, with the standout receiver averaging 12.7 yards per reception despite an average depth of target of only 8.0 yards. That was aided by his ability to make people miss in space, resulting in 21 missed tackles on 141 receptions over 19 games,” McGuinness writes.

St. Brown, recognized for being an absolute value in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, is now eligible for a contract extension and is expected to make a significant increase – appropriately so.

If, like the Sun God and receivers picked before him in the draft, you’re curious about who came before him, here’s the list: Miami’s Tyreek Hill (93.4), San Francisco’s Brandon Aiyuk (91.5), and Houston’s Nico Collins.

And now onto the rest of your notes.

If you’re looking for rankings, Jonah Jackson is ranked 42nd on CBS Sports Pete Prisco’s list of the top 100 free agents, with CJGJ at 86th place.
“The Lions’ starting guards are scheduled to reach free agency this offseason, and this feels like Dan Campbell’s type of player.” See who NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah believes could be a great fit for the Lions at No. 29.

In a back-and-forth on The Athletic, Colton Pouncy and Nick Baumgardner each present their own predictions. ($)

Dan Campbell was motivated to record a new song under his rap name SOG Ceedy after learning that C.J. Gardner Johnson has “mutant genes” because he healed so quickly from his pectoral injury. Mike Payton, of A to Z Sports, has that story.
Speaking of music, Lions DJ Djrayyadig prepared a playlist to help celebrate Black History Month.
