After shocking everyone by finishing 10-7 in the regular season and thrashing the Cleveland Browns 45-14 in the playoffs’ Wild Card round, the Houston Texans have emerged as one of the league’s most promising young teams
They have a number of talented players on offense, such as wide receiver Nico Collins and quarterback C.J. Stroud, who was voted the Offensive Rookie of the Year, but they could need some defensive support.
According to ProFootballTalk, it was revealed on Tuesday that the Texans have signed defensive end Marcus Haynes, adding a little depth to the lineup.
Haynes attended Old Dominion University for his whole collegiate career before going undrafted the previous year.
Days after the draft, he was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent, and he joined their practice squad just before the regular season began.
Later in the regular season, the Broncos cut him loose, and he did not appear in a single game in the 2023 season.
This season, Houston wasn’t a horrible defensive squad; in fact, they led the league in passing touchdowns allowed.
However, there are a few spots on that side of the pitch where they might use more help.
All things considered, the Texans have a very bright future ahead of them; they might just need a few more pieces to turn into serious competitors in the near future.
