On Saturday night, the Dragons will return to Mudgee’s Glen Willow Stadium to play the Wests Tigers in the second and last week of the NRL Pre-season Challenge.

The Red V has participated in eight games at Glen Willow Oval since the beginning of 2018 and is getting ready for game nine on Saturday night. The Dragons and the town have a long-standing relationship.

Two of those matches were against the Raiders and Knights in Telstra Premiership games, and the remaining six were against the Rabbitohs in the yearly Charity Shield match.

The people of Mudgee are well-known for their love of rugby league, and they show it off every time the NRL comes to town by packing stadiums.

The Dragons’ first trip to Mudgee since the Charity Shield matchup with the Rabbitohs last year takes place this weekend.

The Dragons just suffered a 28-6 Charity Shield loss at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium to the Rabbitohs.

In the meantime, the Wests Tigers traveled to Christchurch for their first Pre-Season Challenge match in the NRL and defeated the Warriors by two points.

One week after giving a number of young players substantial playing time, Dragons head coach Shane Flanagan has selected a lineup that is similar for their matchup on Saturday night.
Dan Russell and offseason addition Raymond Faitala-Mariner have joined the extended interchange, but the run-on side is still the same.

The players who are removed from the reserves list are Jonah Glover, Alec Tuitavake, Savelio Tamale, and Dylan Egan.

The Dragons defeated the team from last year’s Round 21 match, 18-14, at WIN Stadium. Tyrell Sloan, Mikaele Ravalawa, and Zac Lomax scored the team’s tries.

The Dragons Knock-On Effect NSW Cup team, fresh off an intraclub trial last Saturday, will also travel to Mudgee to play a trial match against the Western Suburbs Magpies before the NRL encounter.
