Blake Snell, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, has received an offer from the New York Yankees, MLB Network reported Monday.

According to the report, the Los Angeles Angels and San Francisco Giants continue to be interested in signing the free agency left-hander.

The terms of the Yankees’ offer were not disclosed in the report. Snell, 31, earned $16 million with San Diego last season, the final year of a five-year, $50 million contract signed with Tampa Bay in March 2019.

Snell finished 14-9 with a 2.25 ERA and 234 strikeouts in 32 appearances for the Padres in 2023, adding a National League Cy Young Award to the American League title he won with the Rays in 2018.

Snell is 71-55 with a 3.20 ERA in 191 games (all starts) for the Rays (2016-20) and Padres. In 992 2/3 innings, he has 1,223 strikeouts and 451 walks.

Yankees’ Juan Soto throws a truth bomb about playing with Aaron Judge.

This past offseason, the New York Yankees made a trade for superstar Juan Soto. New York missed the postseason in 2023, but signing Soto should help them back in 2024. Soto will join superstar Aaron Judge in the lineup, and he has outlined what fans can anticipate from both Judge and himself this season.

“We both know the strike zone rather well. “I believe it will be two walks or two gappers,” Soto told YES Network. “It’ll be fun. “I think it’ll be great.”

more course, we can expect many more home runs from Judge, Soto, and Giancarlo Stanton. However, Soto’s remarks hint at the underlying X-factor for New York.

Yankees’ 2024 X-factor: Walks. Yes, walking might be New York’s way to recovery in 2024.

Juan Soto arguably has the league’s best plate discipline. In 2023, he had an impressive.410 OBP (on-base percentage), and his lifetime OBP is.421. It is unusual for a young player like Soto, who is only 25 years old, to have such great plate discipline.

Soto has led the league in walks three times, most recently in 2023. He will most likely hit ahead of Judge in the lineup, as Judge has voiced a desire to bat third in 2024.

However, Judge also has a keen eye for the plate. He led the league in walks twice and had a.406 OBP in 2023. Judge had an impressive.425 OBP in his MVP season of 2022. Overall, his career OBP is.396.

Getting on track is critical. Walks are not always the most thrilling way to conduct business, but Yankees supporters will be satisfied as long as the team finds ways to win. Of course, Judge and Soto are exceedingly dangerous when they take the bat off their shoulder.
