The Baltimore Ravens have a slew of pending free agents to address when the new league year begins on March 13, including star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. Will the Ravens re-sign Beckham after he received a $16 million salary last year, which appears to be a significant overpayment? Will they look to replace him through the draft or free agency?
According to Bleacher Report, another free agent might replace OBJ in Baltimore, despite the fact that he recently appeared in the NFC Championship game. Former Texas A&M Aggies wideout Josh Reynolds is one of the more underappreciated pending free agents, according to B/R, and might be a strong match in Baltimore to compliment quarterback Lamar Jackson and soon-to-be second-year receiver Zay Flowers.
“At 6’3″ and 194 pounds, Reynolds has the length to catch deep passes over opponents, and he used that advantage to average 15.2 yards per reception for the Detroit Lions this season,” B/R reported. “With Jameson Williams suspended for the first few games of the season, Reynolds emerged as the primary deep threat for an explosive Lions offense.”Reynolds has never been a star, but he has been a valuable member of several successful attacks, notably the Lions and Los Angeles Rams in 2018-2020.
“He’s the kind of signing that will probably be a minor blip in the news cycle in the spring but will play a crucial role for a team contending for the playoffs.”
There’s little doubt Reynolds has the tools to be a solid No. 2 behind Flowers in Baltimore, but the big question is Flowers himself. Will the former Boston College standout experience the infamous “sophomore slump,” or will he maintain his rookie performance in Year 2 and become Jackson’s genuine No. 1 receiver?
