The Philadelphia Eagles’ defense underperformed this season in comparison to the previous one, ranking eighth in points, third in total yards, and first in sacks in 2022. The team concluded the regular season with an 11-6 record and fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round.

They were placed 20th in sacks, 26th in total yards, and 30th in points in 2023.

Philadelphia signed a former third-round pick in an attempt to increase their sack total for the 2024 campaign.

A pass rusher who was most recently with the Detroit Lions has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Julian Okwara, an EDGE rusher, signed with Philadelphia. Okwara played with the Detroit Lions for his first four seasons.

He was drafted in 2020.

Julian Okwara was selected by the Detroit Lions in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 67th overall.

In his six games during his rookie campaign, Okwara recorded three tackles and one for a loss. He missed the following nine games due to a right leg injury that occurred in Week 6.

During his second season, Okwara played in 13 games and finished with 27 tackles, 6 for a loss, 9 QB hits, 5 sacks, 1 interception, 2 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble. He had an ankle injury that kept him out of three games.

During his third season, Okwara played in ten games and recorded 17 tackles, three for a loss, three quarterback hits, and two sacks. Due to an elbow injury, he missed the last six games and the first week due to a hamstring ailment.

In nine appearances during his fourth season, Okwara recorded seven stops, two for a loss, four quarterback hits, two sacks, and one deflection of a pass. Due to an elbow injury, he had to miss the first four games and was sidelined for Weeks 12, 13, 15, and 17.

Detroit released him to make room for James Houston.

Okwara joins a talented bunch of EDGE rushers.
