On February 12, 2024, X user @GreatNFLFunBook posted (archived) a photograph of a remark attributed to Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell. The post had almost 500,000 views.

According to the post, Campbell made comments about a tense event captured on video at Super Bowl LVIII the day before, in which Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce bumped into and yelled at his head coach, Andy Reid.

According to the image in the post, Campbell made reference to Kelce’s girlfriend, pop diva Taylor Swift, writing, “If that punk a– b—- pushed me and got in my face on the sidelines, I would beat his a– so bad that Taylor Swift would’ve felt it all the way up in her luxury suite.”

However, Campbell never said these comments, and there was no proof that he publicly commented on Kelce and Reid’s sideline interaction.

The quote meme was simply a prank that started in a secret Facebook group called College Football Trash Talk Nation, so we rate it as “False.”

Kelce and Reid share a heated moment.
Regarding Kelce and Reid’s tense encounter on the sideline, the @NFLonCBS account shared a video on X while the game was still being played.

While still on the field after the Chiefs upset the San Francisco 49ers 25-22, Kelce answered a question on ESPN about what he said to Reid at the time.

“Oh, you guys saw that?,” Kelce remarked, smiling. “I’m going to keep it between us unless my ‘Mic’d Up’ tells the world but I was just telling him how much I love him.”

Reid also spoke after the game on Kelce’s outburst, joking about being caught off guard and said, “He keeps me young.”

Kelce agreed. He ‘Crossed the Line’
Kelce elaborated on an episode of the “New Heights” podcast aired on February 14. Kelce co-hosts the podcast with his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.

During the episode, Travis Kelce acknowledged to his brother that he had “crossed the line.”

“I’ve got a certain relationship with [Reid],” Kelce continued.

He’d checked me a few times, and I just wanted to tell him I wanted this thing and that he could put it on me, so I got him. You know, it just happened at a time when we weren’t playing very well [and] I wasn’t playing very well, and we needed to get some sh– going, and sometimes those emotions run away from me, dude, and that’s been my battle throughout my career. But I don’t care what anyone else says. I spoke with coach Reid about it today. We kind of laughed about it.

The Time Reid bumped Kelce.
On December 25, 2023, during a home loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, Kelce was caught on film throwing his helmet on the sidelines. Reid then interfered, telling a staffer not to return his helmet, according to USA Today.

Reid, dubbed “Big Red,” then bumped into Kelce to deliver a message, same to how Kelce would subsequently bump into Reid during Super Bowl LVIII.
