There have been many interesting storylines for the Cleveland Browns this season, but only a few can compete with what Joe Flacco has accomplished.

The veteran quarterback revitalized his career with the team by leading them to a good postseason run despite Deshaun Watson’s absence, becoming the embodiment of a great backup quarterback.

Now that the 2024 NFL season has begun, the seasoned vet is debating his next move.

The Cleveland Browns want to keep Joe Flacco
The 2023 Comeback Player of the Year is still eager to play more football games and will do whatever it takes to get on the field.

Heavy.com’s JR DeGroote wrote about the 39-year-old’s mindset for the coming season:

“I’m not riding off into any sunset,” Flacco told Cleveland.com. “This is not my style. I don’t care if it becomes ugly; I want to keep playing until it does. I want to be dragged from that field. Having said that, it might not be up to me. It took me till week whatever to be on a squad this year. I understand that I don’t make all of those decisions. But I think I’ll be back out there next year, taking things one day at a time.”

The Cleveland Browns have also stated that if Watson is unable to fulfill his contract due to health issues, they intend to keep him in Cleveland.

“We’d absolutely love to have Joe back,” Browns General Manager Andrew Berry stated during his postseason press conference last month. “He is a good quarterback, but he reminds me of Jacoby from last year. It depends, correct? I’d like to bring back all of our good players, but there are limits. I’m on both sides of the political spectrum, but we’d welcome Joe back without hesitation.”
