The 49ers already know where they will choose in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft following their crushing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium.

After not having a first-round draft pick in each of the previous two seasons owing to the February 2021 trade-up for quarterback Trey Lance, the 49ers are now scheduled to pick 31st overall when the 2024 Draft begins on April 25.

San Francisco has not made a first-round pick since selecting North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance with the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The 49ers last had the No. 31 overall pick in 2020, when they traded up to No. 26 to select wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

In a post-Super Bowl mock draft, NFL.com’s Chad Reuter projects the 49ers to pick Georgia safety Javon Bullard at No. 31 overall.

“San Francisco could see a lot of former 49er Jimmie Ward in Bullard because of his athleticism, versatility and aggressiveness on the outside,” said Reuter.

According to The Athletic’s Nick Baumgardner, the 49ers will draft a defensive player at No. 31 overall, picking Missouri edge rusher Darius Robinson with the second-to-last pick in the first round.

“Another freaky athlete, Robinson (6-5, 286 pounds with 34 6/8-inch arms and an 84 4/8-inch wingspan) is long and fast enough to do damage just about anywhere up front, including off the edge.,” Baumgardner said in a statement.

Regardless of who the 49ers choose, there will be a lot of attention on who they add to a quality group that fell just short of a Super Bowl championship.
