The Las Vegas Raiders are analyzing candidates for the 2024 NFL Draft, seeking for individuals who will fit into their existing culture and help them win games. Coach Antonio Pierce and General Manager Tom Telesco have replaced the Raiders’ previous leadership. These two want to establish a championship-winning squad in Las Vegas, and it may start with this draft class. Under Pierce, the Raiders made substantial defensive improvements. They could yet want to add more players to that side of the ball, possibly from the outside.
One of those guys could be Demeioun “Chop” Robinson of Penn State. Robinson, rightly dubbed, is an imposing presence off the edge and one of the class’s best defensive ends.

Robinson transferred to the Nittany Lions after only one season at Maryland. He ended his collegiate career with 60 total tackles, 20 for loss, three forced fumbles, and 11.5 sacks. In 2023, he was named to the First Team All-Big Ten. Robinson appears smaller than his 6-foot-3, 250-pound body, but it doesn’t prevent him from becoming a ferocious edge rusher. He has excellent snap timing and uses his strength and speed to assault linemen.

Robinson’s most notable attribute is his quickness. When he starts a rush, he makes quick, choppy motions to outmanoeuvre his opponents. He can turn speed into power and push linemen back into the quarterback.
He also has the athleticism and suppleness to bend around his opponents or drop beneath them. Robinson has a variety of pass-rush skills at his disposal and plays hard on every snap. According to Pro Football Focus, Robinson accumulated 26 total pressures. He was the seventh-highest-rated edge rusher in the nation, and the top in the Big Ten. Robinson is one of the top edge athletes in the class. He was named to The Athletic writer Bruce Feldman’s ‘Freaks List,’ which ranks the top athletes in college football.
While Robinson is an excellent pass rusher, he has to improve his run defense. When the opportunity to run presents itself, he is slow to release from his blocks. Robinson is anticipated to be drafted in the late first or early second round. If the Raiders want to bolster their improved pass rush with an explosive athlete, Robinson could be an ideal candidate. The NFL Draft will take place in Detroit, Michigan, on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders presently have the 13th overall pick.
