SNY | Garrett Stepien: While he wasn’t the most well-known choice at the time or now, the Yankees signed Marcus Stroman to strengthen a rotation that has some questions heading into 2024. Pitcher Chase Hampton has received positive feedback in early workouts as he prepares to participate in major league spring training this year. Hampton is widely regarded as the Yankees’ top pitching prospect, and some sources rank him among the top 100 prospects in baseball overall.

In an interview, Hader said that the Yankees were one of the teams that checked in on him, though not with the same level of zeal as the Astros, where he eventually signed.
