The Minnesota Vikings have not decided on a quarterback strategy, so things could change over the coming weeks.

If Minnesota decides to extend Kirk Cousins, the team has until mid-March to do it before other teams may start talks

with the quarterback as a free agency. The Vikings can replace him with a new signal-caller through free agency or the NFL draft in late Apri On Thursday, February 8, Alexander Mattison, a running back from the 2024 Super Bowl, spoke with FanSided’s “Stacking The Box” program from Radio Row.

Mattison was very upfront about how he felt about Cousins during the interview.

Cousins, like Mattison, is eager to know for sure what his future holds in Minnesota. The quarterback stated as much in an interview with Sky Sports NFL on January 30.

“The conversations really don’t start until March, which surprises a lot of people who ask, including friends and family,” Cousins said. “I would really like to know my destination. I wish we could start those discussions right away.

Cousins is working on healing his Achilles tendon and anticipates being fully recovered for training camp, whether it’s with the Vikings or another team.
