On Saturday, March 23, at 12:05 p.m., the VFLW Bulldogs will play at home against North Melbourne, while on Sunday, March 24, at 12:05 p.m., the Footscray Bulldogs will play GWS.
The twenty-one clubs from Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland who participated in the previous two seasons will be back in the 2024 Smithy’s VFL campaign. Each team will play 18 games during the 21-round home-and-away season.
In 2024, there will be 14 rounds in the VFLW season, and all 12 teams that participated in the competition the previous year will be back.
In the upcoming days, the further rounds of both tournaments will be confirmed.

Swans and Giants will participate in some VFLW competition.
The Sydney Swans and GWS GIANTS will compete in part of the 2024 VFLW season, with each New South Wales-based team playing five games against VFLW clubs from Rounds 3-7 of the home-and-away season. This is a change to the VFLW schedule. The competing VFLW clubs will be playing these games for premiership points.
Match specifics between the Swans and the GIANTS will be verified with the release of the complete VFLW schedule.
In 2024, the VFL-SANFL rivalry will resume.
The men’s representative game between the VFL and SANFL will return in 2024, taking place in Adelaide during the AFL Gather Round weekend, which is scheduled for April 4–7. In the VFL’s first representative match in seven years, the top 21-team competitors’ VFL-listed players will be chosen to represent the “Big V.” We’ll get more information on the location and timing of the match soon.
Transmission and encoding
The AFL website, AFL Live Official App, and VFL App will all offer free live streaming of every game during the 2024 Smithy’s VFL and VFLW seasons. A few games will be televised live and free on the Seven Network in Victoria and on 7plus across the country, thanks to Smithy’s partnership with the Seven Network for VFL broadcasting.
Real-time statistics and scoring
Both the VFL App and the AFL Live Official App will offer live scoring and statistics.
Ticketing
Tickets for Smithy’s VFL matches are $10 for adults, $5 for concession holders, and free for children under 15. Certain locations don’t charge admission. For VFL matches that are held as the prelude to and after the conclusion of AFL matches, AFL ticket fees are applicable.
VFLW contests are free to enter. Entry fees will be charged at stadiums hosting doubleheaders of the VFL and VFLW if the VFLW match is played first and ends at halftime.
