Following a painful College Football Playoff exit last month, Steve Sarkisian and Texas football hope to begin a new chapter in the SEC in 2024. Quinn Ewers’ choice to return to the Longhorns was good news for the club. Furthermore, the squad has been able to secure other transferees from the gateway, such as wide receiver Isaiah Bond and EDGE Trey Moore.
Furthermore, it appears that the school has shaken up the team personnel as well. Sarkisian’s recent release stated that Texas is promoting Brandon Harris to general manager. Harris, a former NCAA quarterback at LSU and UNC football, joined the Texas staff in 2019 and worked his way up to general manager, according to the Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.
Other names have been promoted from inside. John Michael Jones has been designated director of player personnel, Taylor Searels has been promoted to director of recruitment, and Kyndal Perry has been appointed director of recruiting operations. (from Texas football’s official X/Twitter page)
All of these internal adjustments will be important preparations for the upcoming season, when Texas will face Georgia and Oklahoma in their new league. Even if the Longhorns’ 2024 schedule isn’t as demanding as some of the other schools’, Steve Sarkisian will undoubtedly keep stepping on the pedal until he wins it all. Texas football, which was on the verge of a national title appearance last month, now has high expectations, especially with Ewers returning. The Southeastern Conference is currently waiting for the newcomers to put their skills to the test.
