The Baltimore Ravens missed out on the Super Bowl after losing 17-10 to the San Francisco 49ers in the AFC Championship game. Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ tight end, was seen celebrating after the win with his girlfriend, pop sensation Taylor Swift. Swift’s friendship with Kelce has taken the NFL by storm this season, with Swift attending games to cheer on the Chiefs and Kelce.

Swift generally draws admirers from all over the country, but for the days leading up to the Super Bowl, when the Chiefs face the 49ers on February 11, one San Francisco family will not be listening to her music. During an appearance on the Your Mom podcast, 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey’s mother, Lisa, stated that they will boycott Swift’s music until after the big game. So much so that if one of Swift’s songs comes on the radio, they quickly change the station.

“I love her and the relationship, but we’re boycotting all Taylor Swift songs… If she appears on the radio…nope. “She’s dead to us this week.” Many NFL fans have complained about Swift’s appearances at games and on telecasts this season, and at least for Super Bowl LVIII, San Francisco supporters will not be Swift fans.

Injury update boosts Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon’s Super Bowl chances.

The return of running back Jerick McKinnon from injury could give the Kansas City Chiefs a lift heading into Super Bowl LVIII. He previously played for their opponents, the San Francisco 49ers, and could be a secret weapon for the Chiefs.

McKinnon was placed on the disabled list on Christmas Eve with a groin injury, just before a game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Clyde Edwards-Helaire filled in for him during his absence.

Due to a series of injuries, McKinnon was limited to 21 carries for 60 yards and one touchdown this year. He also demonstrated his passing ability, with 25 receptions for 192 yards and four touchdowns.

While it’s wonderful news that he’s back in training, it’s unclear whether he’ll be ready to participate in the Super Bowl. The team is yet to confirm his status for the big game against the 49ers.

McKinnon has shown to be an important part of the Chiefs’ offensive approach, particularly as a dynamic running back who can also catch passes. In three seasons, he has run for 413 yards and caught 94 receptions for 811 yards.

McKinnon played a key role in the Chiefs’ 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVIII. He caught three passes for 15 yards and rushed four times for 34 yards.

One important event occurred during Kansas City’s last drive. After gaining 9 yards, McKinnon came to a halt just short of the goal. This allowed the Chiefs to run down the clock before hitting the game-winning field goal with eight seconds remaining. His wise decision helped the Chiefs win the championship.

McKinnon joined the Chiefs in 2021, having previously played for the Minnesota Vikings and the San Francisco 49ers. Despite not being the major starting running back, he has had a tremendous impact. Isiah Pacheco, a seventh-round draft pick, has emerged as the team’s best running back after rushing for 935 yards and seven touchdowns this season.

Last season, Chiefs coach Andy Reid praised Pacheco and McKinnon, telling local Kansas City media: “They’re both two completely different types of games,” and “You have a good balance there.”

Reid also praised McKinnon, saying, “You’ve been playing running back in the NFL for nine years; those are dog years. He has come out in a very positive light and shape for the Chiefs over the previous couple of years.”
