Nashville, Tennessee According to numerous sources, Dennard Wilson, the defensive backs coach who helped the Ravens become the NFL’s most stingy team in 2023, will be interviewing on Tuesday to become the defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans. The defense became the first in NFL history to lead the league in fewest points allowed, sacks, and takeaways during Wilson’s rookie season with the Ravens. In addition, the Ravens defense was third in passes defended and second in passing touchdowns allowed. Baltimore only gave up 4.7 net yards per passing attempt and intercepted eighteen passes.

After working as a scout for the Chicago Bears for three seasons, Wilson began his coaching career in 2012 as a defensive quality control assistant for the Rams. He was the defensive backs coach for the Rams in 2015–16. From 2017–2020, he was the defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator for the New York Jets. As the Philadelphia Eagles made it to Super Bowl LVII, Wilson worked for the team for two seasons, first as the defensive backs coach in 2021 and then as the defensive passing game coordinator in 2022.

Wilson is the lone applicant the Titans have reportedly confirmed will be interviewed. The group is also thinking about keeping Shane Bowen as defensive coordinator. Wilson has also been asked to participate in interviews by the New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams, and Green Bay Packers.
