With trials just a few weeks away, battle-tested Sharks forward Dale Finucane, who is entering his 13th NRL season just two games shy of reaching the 250-game milestone, is as determined and thrilled as ever.
The 32-year-old is totally healthy and primed to play in 2024 after missing a season-ending biceps injury and playing a career-low 13 games the previous year due to suspension.
Sharks Media spoke with Finucane on his physical condition, players who have taken up leadership roles after Wade Graham retired, the value of continuity in the team, and the attraction of winning a premiership.
“I feel great, and my bicep has returned to its previous level, so it feels 100%. Simply eager to attend the games,” Finucane remarked.
“Training with all the fitness and conditioning we have to do is the hardest time of the year right now. Everyone, in my opinion, is just excited to play.”
