Unai Emery feels Aston Villa’s best is still to come, and he wants his team’s standards to remain high in the second half of the season. Villa host Newcastle on Tuesday, live on TNT Sports, looking to extend their Premier League home unbeaten streak to 17 games, dating back to February of last year. Emery’s men are fourth in the table and could move up to second with a win.

Unai Emery is “excited” about the challenge of preserving Aston Villa’s amazing start to the Premier League, believing the best is yet to come from his team.
Villa will host Newcastle at Villa Park on Tuesday, live on TNT Sports, hoping to extend their Premier League home unbeaten streak of 17 games, which began in February of last year.
Emery’s team is currently fourth in the table and might go up to second on Tuesday, depending on how Arsenal performs away to Nottingham Forest in a match shown live on TNT Sports.

Villa earned a 0-0 draw away to Chelsea in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday and are among the favourites to win the UEFA Europa Conference League after reaching the last 16.
Emery turned down an offer from Newcastle in late 2021 to stay at Villarreal.
The Spaniard believes there is still more to come, particularly if Villa can reproduce their home success on the road.

Howe says Joelinton’s departure ‘a possibility’, Wilson’s future ‘out of our control’
“We have to be consistent in our mentality, and this is a process,” stated the former Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain manager.
“We are establishing a squad and are still working on a lot of things to improve, and we need to feel strong in our structure and dedication, with everyone eager to play and help, as well as being demanding.

“The results, scoring goals and allowing less goals, we have to strive in the second half of the season to face a huge challenge for us, and I am excited. I’m delighted to be demanding and know it will be challenging, and this is a message to the fans, players, and everyone.”
Emery chose a strong lineup for the draw at Stamford Bridge as Villa returned from a two-week holiday break, and he hopes they have shaken off any rust ahead of their return to Premier League play.

“We were struggling in the first half,” he said. “It was important to be strong in the dressing room and remind yourself how we won before here and how we are competitive facing matches like tonight we played against a team [Chelsea] who are a contender for this competition.”
Newcastle absolutely needs the points if they are to have any chance of catching Villa and fighting for a top-four finish and a return to the Champions League. They now rank 10th, 14 points behind Villa and the top four.

The Magpies’ dismal road form has contributed significantly to their troubles this season.
Howe’s side has the second-worst away record in the Premier League, having just won once, an 8-0 victory against Sheffield United in September.
