Will Levis, the quarterback, was the only player mentioned when Brian Callahan, the new head coach of the Tennessee Titans, was introduced.
Levis, a quarterback who started nine games as a rookie for Tennessee in 2023, is someone the previous offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals expressed excitement in working with.
However, Callahan talked about running back Derrick Henry, another member of the Titans backfield, during his Friday media engagements.
In the event that Tennessee does not sign the former Alabama All-American to a contract extension, Henry will become an unrestricted free agent in March.
Callahan stated on WPRT-FM, “I think a player like Derrick Henry fits in every offense.” “He’s been an incredible athlete.” He has long served as the franchise’s face in this area. Derrick Henry comes to mind when you think of the Tennessee Titans, and he has earned it.
“If he is open to a return that fits for us, like, I’m never going to say no to good players. I know that he’s been an incredible leader in this building as well, which also carries a lot of weight, and so you can find ways to use every player. There’s no offensive system that would say ‘I dont like to have Derrick Henry here.
” We’ll see where that goes, but I do believe he still has some gas left in the tank. I would never turn down a guy like that if they wanted to come back here and it worked out for us, even though I know he’s going to try to see what’s available to him.
