Jared Goff was viewed as a throw-in in the blockbuster trade that sent him to the Detroit Lions and Matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams.

After a few of tough seasons, the Rams and head coach Sean McVay appeared to be done with Goff and thought it was time to move on to a veteran such as Stafford.

Stafford and Los Angeles won Super Bowl LVI in their first year together, while Goff and Detroit gradually improved.

Goff finally gained his revenge on his previous team as the Lions defeated the Rams in the Wild Card Round, and he then led them to victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Divisional Round.

The former No. 1 overall pick has won the respect and admiration of the Detroit fan base, who cheered him on during a recent Red Wings game.

Goff compared Detroit and Los Angeles supporters and agreed that they are substantially different, according to ESPN’s Eric Woodyard.

“These fans are unbelievable,” Goff added. He also stated that his playoff runs in LA were “not like this.”

Football has taken a backseat in Los Angeles, where they haven’t had their own club in decades, so it’s understandable that Goff hasn’t received the same attention.

However, Detroit is a very different beast, as the sports community is desperate for a title, and Goff is in a position to lead them to it.

The Lions have been the NFL’s feel-good story all season, and it will be intriguing to see if Goff can keep their Super Bowl aspirations alive this weekend.
