Following a terrible 2023 season in which both Sean Desai and Matt Patricia called defensive plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, Vic Fangio should significantly improve the team’s defensive performance. And it appears that Coach Nick Sirianni’s new defensive coordinator may be adding another seasoned coach to his staff.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Eagles intend to interview former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell for their linebackers coaching position on Friday.

The 52-year-old was fired as defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars after the team’s disastrous 2023 season. Prior to Fangio’s departure from the Miami Dolphins, the Eagles interviewed Caldwell for defensive coordinator. He appears to be overqualified to be the linebackers coach, but working under Fangio may help him land a better job next offseason if the Eagles’ defensive performance improves in 2024.

Caldwell has several ties to the Eagles organization, in addition to working for coach Doug Pederson in Jacksonville for two seasons.

Caldwell played linebacker for 11 years before moving on to coaching. From 1998 to 2001, he spent four seasons with the Eagles, during which time he had 254 combined tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, three interceptions, and three forced fumbles.

Andy Reid was Caldwell’s coach during his final three seasons with the Eagles. Reid would give Caldwell the opportunity to begin his NFL coaching career. Caldwell worked as the Eagles’ defensive quality control coach under Reid in 2008 and 2009. He served as assistant linebackers coach in 2010, before being promoted to linebackers coach for Reid’s final two seasons with the Eagles.

Caldwell’s return to Philadelphia would not only help Sirianni and Fangio’s staff, but it would also mark a full circle for someone with strong links to the Eagles.

So Sad: A star player’s wife examined why she broke silence, not as claimed earlier.

The biggest star of the divisional round battle between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills this past weekend wasn’t anyone on the field, nor was Taylor Swift.

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, brother of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, drew the most attention from the broadcast crew and social media users after he was spotted tailgating with Bills fans before the game and then taking his shirt off while watching from his suite.

Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that the Eagles star informed her he wanted to enjoy every aspect of attending a Bills game, including the pre-game hijinks.

“He wanted to get the full Bills experience,” Kelce added. “He desperately wanted to pass through a table.” “It was on his daily checklist.”

Finally, Kelce stated that her husband was unable to find a table to leap through before the game, so he informed her that he planned to remove his shirt and jump out of the suite during the game as a backup move.

That sparked a flurry of viral social media moments, including him chatting with fans outside his suite.

Kelce’s immediate future will most likely involve watching his brother play in the AFC title game against the Baltimore Ravens, but his 2024 future remains uncertain after reports of his retirement surfaced following the Eagles’ loss in the NFC Wild Card round.

Kelce dismissed the allegations and stated that he will make his plans public on his own time.

Kelce, for the time being, is content to watch from the sideline
