Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer isn’t over thinking the recruiting aspect of his new gig. He has made stops all over the home state of Alabama including the home of the reigning Class 7A State Champions.

Three-star offensive tackle Mal Waldrep (Phenix City, AL) told Bama247 he was reassured the Crimson Tide still were recruiting him. Coach DeBoer made it clear to Waldrep during their conversation at Central-Phenix High School on Thursday afternoon.

After getting five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams to recommit, DeBoer landed a marquee commitment for the 2024 class with four-star edge rusher Noah Carter. The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder is one of the top edge rushers in the nation from Arizona via Centennial High School.

He was committed to the University of Washington, but Carter backed off his commitment to the Huskies on Jan. 18.

Alabama fans are excited to have Carter, and they are reacting to the news on social media.

Five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams has made his college decision after revealing a commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Wednesday.

Williams, who recently backed off of his commitment to the Tide last month, took his fair share of visits before announcing a decision.

The No. 1 receiver in America took an unofficial to Tuscaloosa last Monday shortly after visiting Texas A&M.

The 2024 wideout was set to arrive in Death Valley last Wednesday for an overnight stay, but elected to bypass the visit before making a return trip to Tuscaloosa.

Williams visited Alabama twice last week before announcing his decision to commit to the Crimson Tide once again on Wednesday.

The finalists for his services were Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Texas and Texas A&M.

A player who was originally a member of the 2025 recruiting class, he elected to reclassify into the 2024 cycle to take his talents to the next level a year early.

Now, it’s full steam ahead to put pen to paper during the Signing Period in February.

Williams, who was wined and dined by four of the top programs in the country, will join the Tide’s 2024 recruiting class as a key piece to the new era of Alabama football.

It was always going be tough for programs to get the Alabama native out of his home state with both the Tide and Auburn trending. Despite backing off of his pledge once Nick Saban retired, Alabama remained having the edge for his signature.

Now, his decision is made with Kalen DeBoer reeling in his first prized recruit as the head coach of Alabama.

Williams had unofficially visited Baton Rouge once this year where he was accompanied by the No. 2 quarterback in the 2025 class, George MacIntyre.

With a commitment now made public, Williams has canceled his trip to Auburn that was scheduled for this weekend and has his sights set on signing with Alabama in February.
