The NCAA is investigating the Florida Gators’ high-profile recruitment of Jaden Rashada, which ended in a mess.

On June 9, Florida received a notice of inquiry from the NCAA regarding the matter. Though Rashada and the nature of the violation were not mentioned in the letter, reports on Friday indicate that the investigation is related to Rashada.

Rashada was enticed to sign with Florida by a Name, Image, and Likeness deal worth $13.85 million over 4 years. After the deal fell through, he requested that his Letter of Intent, which he signed in December 2022, be terminated.

The Gator Collective, which had arranged the failed deal with Rashada, has since closed down.

In January, Florida released Rashada from his letter of intent. The quarterback eventually committed to Arizona State and played for the Sun Devils.

Rashada played in three games for ASU in 2023, passing for 485 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions.
