Kendrick Perkins may be a former Boston Celtics player, but he is not taking it easy on the team’s current coach.
Kendrick Perkins, a retired former NBA big man, went viral Friday for a scathing remark against Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla. Perkins made the remark during ESPN’s coverage of the Celtics-Denver Nuggets national television game.
What a brilliant method to simply roast a man’s entire existence.
Perkins was commenting on Mazzulla’s alleged inability to get his players easy looks. Perkins attacked Mazzulla’s offensive setups, claiming that he had the Celtics playing “AAU basketball.”
Boston lost 102-100 to Denver on Friday, ending a historic home winning streak. The Celtics controlled the ball on the final possession and utilized two timeouts to set up out-of-bounds plays that may tie the game. However, both plays fell horribly flat.
While the Celtics remain an NBA-best 32-10 on the season, they are notoriously unorganized in close games, which many blame directly on Mazzulla.
Perkins, who played for Boston from 2003 to 2011 and was a member of the 2008 NBA championship team, is actually more critical of his former team than most.
