Nashville – The Titans have finished their seventh interview for the head coaching position.

Bobby Slowik, the Texans offensive coordinator, conducted a video interview with the team on Thursday evening.

Slowik, in his first season with the Texans, has played a key role in the development of NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year frontrunner quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Slowik previously spent six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, where he served as the passing game coordinator in 2022. Slowik formerly worked as a passing game specialist (2021), offensive assistant (2019-2020), and defensive quality control coach (2017-2018).

Slowik was also a defensive assistant for the Washington Commanders from 2011 to 2013, after starting his NFL career as a video assistant in 2010.

The Titans previously interviewed Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, Raiders interim coach Antonio Pierce, Ravens defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald, Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, and Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown for the position.

In-person interviews are prohibited until January 22, however Zoom interviews are permitted prior to that date.

Derrick Henry did not rule out the Titans’ return, but there is a catch.

At first glance, Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans look to be going in opposite ways. After his legendary tenure with the franchise in which he became known as one of the league’s most elite running backs, Henry is now set to enter NFL free agency this upcoming offseason, and many pundits have speculated that the 30 year-old may opt to leave Tennessee behind in an attempt to find a team more suited to compete for a Super Bowl in the near future.

Henry recently spoke about his impending free agency and how the recent departure of Titans head coach Mike Vrabel may influence his decision making process.

“I’m not saying it’s closed,” Henry said of his prospective Titans return, according to Grant Gordon of nfl.com. “But I have a feeling they are going in a different direction.” I believe [Vrabel’s firing] has solidified that. And that’s okay. That happens. That is the nature of the business. We want something that lasts forever. Nothing works, particularly in this business. I will always be a Titan, even if I do not return. At the end of the day, my goal is to win the Super Bowl. I want to go wherever I have the best chance. I have no bad blood or any negative feelings if I don’t return. It’s exactly what was supposed to happen. The story has already been written; we are all just living it.”
