NASHVILLE: Antonio Pierce, the interim coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, conducted an interview with the Tennessee Titans leadership on Saturday in order to fill the head coaching position left vacant by the team’s split from Mike Vrabel.
After Josh McDaniels was fired by the Raiders, 45-year-old Pierce was hired as head coach.
He led the squad to an upset win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas, closing with a record of 5-4. While they continue to interview other candidates, Pierce is weighing his options and the Raiders are thinking about removing the interim tag from him.

Pierce began coaching as a high school head coach at Long Beach Poly in California before joining Arizona State in 2018 as linebackers coach and recruitment coordinator.
He worked at Arizona State from 2018 to 2021, where he was promoted to Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator. After that, he joined the Raiders.
The Giants’ Mike Kafka and the Bengals’ Brian Callahan were the offensive coordinators the Titans interviewed on Friday. At least nine coaches have been contacted by the Titans for interviews: Callahan, Kafka, Pierce, Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson of the Detroit Lions, Mike Macdonald of the Baltimore Ravens, Dan Quinn of the Dallas Cowboys, Bobby Slowik of the Houston Texans, and Brian Johnson of the Philadelphia Eagles.
