The New York Giants have been making a lot of moves since their offseason began this past Sunday. They have already chosen to part ways with defensive coordinator Wink Martindale and several other coaches. They have now made another move, hiring an offensive line coach who previously coached the Las Vegas Raiders for three seasons.

Brian Daboll has made numerous adjustments to begin the first week of the offseason, as we have seen so much movement, particularly among coaches, in this first week of the offseason for so many teams. It is now official, according to the New York Giants report.

“The New York Giants have hired former Las Vegas Raiders offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo.”

The Giants will continue to make a lot of movements for coaches because there are still several coach openings in the organization. This is a terrific start because Bricillo has done excellent job in Vegas over the last three years and was also extremely solid with the New England Patriots before joining them.

New York Giants Sign Carmen Bricillo

This is a significant decision for the Giants, as they paid Daniel Jones a lot of money to be their franchise quarterback last offseason, and he has endured injuries as one of the most sacked quarterbacks in the league in recent years.

Jones needs help from the offensive line, and hiring a coach who has had success on many teams is a solid decision. This will not solve the majority of the Giants’ problems, and they will need to make several additional changes this offseason. But for the time being, this is a respectable start, which Jones will undoubtedly appreciate after missing the majority of the year due to injuries.

Daboll has a lot of work to do this offseason, including figuring out what to do with star running back Saquon Barkley, who would benefit from a remade offensive line. Carmen will be one of several new coaches on their staff when the season begins in 2024, and Jones will also suit up. The last time Jones played a complete season, New York was in the playoffs.

If Carmen can come in and improve the offensive line, it will go a long way toward Jones’ and the team’s success, but the organization still has a lot of work to do before the next season.
